Geminiani: Violin Sonatas Op.4

The latest volume in a revelatory project breathing new life into the founding figures of the Italian violin school of the 18th century.

Renowned violinist Igor Ruhadze and harpsichordist Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya have teamed up for an extraordinary project reviving the works of Francesco Geminiani. Following the success of their Op.1 Violin Sonatas album, their latest release showcases Geminiani's Op.4 Sonatas, published in London in 1739. The duo's performance is described as a perfect blend of flamboyance, grace, and elegance, breathing new life into these rarely gathered gems of the Italian Baroque. Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya's harpsichord accompaniment complements Ruhadze's exceptional Baroque violin playing, creating a captivating musical experience that transcends both historical and modern preferences.
